Moving Forward

In our quest to embrace all things healthy there will inevitably be setbacks...there will be social situations where alchol may or may not be involved and you will experience a moment of weakness and give in eating some things that u know are not good for you...for some.. it may send you into a downward spiral of overindulging in crap food..for others it will not detour their journey to healthful eating. I have to say in the past I have experienced both...now I dont allow giving in to not so healthy foods send me totally off course..I make CONSCIOUS decisions to eat cook foods..it's always something that I have not found a good substitution in the RAW/living world..I eat it..I enjoy it and I return to consuming RAW/ Living foods..it's funny because I always will have reactions to consuming said foods..I feel a dip in energy,a slowness of elimination(Yall know what I mean) just a general fogginess...somethimes I even will get headaches..and even start to feel a depression coming on..I know there will come a day that I will not want to eat any cooked foods..because the general "yuck" feeling will not be worth it...the more you consume healthy living vibrant food the more YOU will feel a difference when you consume the opposite...So tell me How is yor journey going?

Natalia Rose

This is from Natalia Roses's site..Detox the World..her view on eating raw/living foods is rather refreshing..let me know what you think!

My Top 10 List for an Outstanding Life Experience
06/20/09, New York, NY
1. Keep your center clear. When your intestine is clear, you’ll feel the bliss of free-flowing energy coursing through you. By contrast, a dense, weighted digestive system and impacted colon is a recipe for depression and sluggishness. To clear your intestine, eat quick-exit foods in quick-exit combos and spotlight bowel cleansing. Maintain this and enjoy the constant high!

2. Follow your dietary intuition—not the food police. Be your own highest authority. Don’t blindly follow the government’s food pyramid, the raw-vegan dogma, or the newest diet craze. Focus on the truths of the human body—of your body specifically, and your optimal level of transition. Outside of your truth, everyone has an agenda, a vested interest in making you follow their belief system. Don’t make your kids drink milk just because everyone else says it’s essential. Enjoy that occasional piece of fish, even after you’ve committed to being vegan, because it just feels right and it will make you happy. There is no dogma, only the truth of your body. Follow your truth and enjoy the power to decide for yourself!

3. Boost your Life Force Energy by keeping your mornings sacred. Just by resting your system with a period of fasting in the morning, you will boost the life force that animates your whole body and spirit. Stop cluttering up your center with food all day long. Enjoy the lightness of the morning before you take in anything. You will grow to love this time of day as you come to recognize the Life Force Energy within you.

4. Juice until dinner—one, two, or three days a week. Juicing will really help to open up your center and increase your Life Force Energy. At first, work your way up to this by juicing until lunch. This will really get the energy flowing and help your body catch up on the backlog of dense substances that are blocking your bliss, physically and energetically.

5. Make every day a “salad day.” Make yourself the juiciest salads with lots of cucumbers, tomatoes, lemon juice, and summer herbs like basil and cilantro. Remember what raw food is all about and make the most desirable, mouth-watering salad imaginable! Add some raw goat cheese or avocado to make it a totally satisfying meal!

6. Stretch your body. Get down on the floor and gently stretch your body—not to practice yoga per se, but just to open yourself up and relieve your body of the energetic stagnation and gas pressure between the muscle tissues and joints. Enjoy the easy bliss that comes from just a few moments of stretching throughout the day.

7. Discard the old programming, and embrace new stories that serve your truth. You are your own storyteller. Direct your own life by choosing what to accept and what to discard. Make way for all the love and joy you want to bring into your life by discarding the lies and misguided programs. Love yourself so much that there is only room for the beautiful truths in your heart. Watch what develops.

8. Pay attention to the people and places that are no longer part of your truth. Gauge your physical reactions. Do your palms get sweaty or does your heartbeat increase when you when you go to certain places? Are you really having a good time when you go out with certain people or is it a routine obligation? When you pay attention to such things you discover other parts of your life that are ready to evolve. It took me a while to recognize the many uncomfortable signals my body gave when I would walk into department stores. I finally understood that these places greatly repulsed my whole being. Now, unless it is absolutely necessary, I stay out. Another time, I realized that I could not open a tabloid/celebrity magazine without getting a little sick inside, so I stopped reading them—and now they look as foreign to me as a bag of Twizzlers! Recently, I had a strong reaction to a certain crowd. Now I have complete confirmation that there is no joy in that environment for me anymore, so I no longer engage with it. Don’t swim blindly and let the waves and rapids knock you around. Open your eyes and see that you have options!

9. Be impeccable with your word—your word is you! Don’t say things that are not true just to make other people happy or to keep yourself safe from their judgment. Be true to yourself. Of course, this starts with being honest with yourself. Have honest conversations with yourself as you address what you embrace and what no longer serves you. Be as courageous as you can be today and expand your courage every day as it opens you up more and more to your true self. When you are free to be your true self you will love yourself more and your life experience will be so much more fulfilling.

10. Find something you love more than food. Discover a passion, something that gets you out of your mind-chatter. It could be anything from painting to meditating to a particular subject that captivates your imagination, or just the pleasure of a walk with a good friend. Too many people lean on eating as an outlet for their mental reprieve. That should not be the role of a meal or a snack. Remember how great it was to be a kid lost at play for hours—not thinking, just creating and playing with the innocence of a clear mind? My passion is pursuing truth and eliminating illusions in all areas of life and then creating naturally from that incredible, ever-expanding perception. When I am creating, I am in my joy. What is your joy?

Here’s to an ever more outstanding life experience for us all!

Love,
Natalia

Creating a Habit

Quote Du Jour
We are what we repeatedly do,excellence, then,is not an act,but a habit-Aristole
From Sparkspeople
Personal improvement, whether it’s weight loss or fitness, is about creating or losing a habit. It shouldn't be thought of as a short-term event. People diet until they lose 20 pounds, and then stop the smart eating and exercise strategies that got them there. Once they reach their goal, they go back to the way they lived before and wonder why the weight comes back. For permanent change, habits need to stick around for the long run. With repetition and time, a single action will seem habitual. Once it becomes a habit, it becomes part of who you are, and the transformation is complete.

Now how many of us have been all gung-ho at the start of a new exercise regime...we get results...then we stop doing what got us the results...that cycle has to stop!...I can proudly say that I have been exercising 5-6 days a week for over a year...and as you all know I have gotten results...I still have a ways to go...and I can honestly say the thought does not enter my mind NOT to exercise..I have committed to myself that I will do 5-6 days week..so if I were to miss a day ...I double up one of the days...I look at it this way..If I break this comittment I have made to myself..where will that get me...everyday that I push my heart cardiowise..I'm making my heart stronger and I'm burning fat...everyday that I push my muscles to failure ,I'm sculpting my body..Do you know how empowering it is to know that YOU can sculpt your body! It is very important for you to find the workout that you love!...When I weighed over 300lbs..I worked out in the pool with aquatic aerobics..when I got stronger I worked with a trainer for a minute..I even had a bodybugg.(I luv gadgets)...I constantly bought fitness magazines to keep myself feeling inspired...I love reading about others success!...I have watched the Biggest Loser over and over,lol..I have found that I love working out at home...I purchased Slim in 6 and Turbo Jam..which is my absolute favorite!!...when I started that workout..I was always fake boxing around the house ..practicing my roundhouse kick(softly) with my big dog,lol...I can not imagine not doing this workout!..I can burn apprx 1000 cal...when using the weighted gloves!..I do wear a heart rate monitor..which is a great way to know how hard you are working..I have recently added ChaLean Extreme..which is amazing..it's all weights(U lift heavy and slow) and the program is 90 days..you change routines every 30 days!...Dvd's allow me the flexibility of working out at home whenever I want..wearing what ever I want(sometimes it aint pretty)lol...I want you all to make a commitment to some type of physical actitivity...whatever movement brings you joy...you may not love getting all sweaty,or being sore right now...but just know that everytime you do it...YOU are loving yourself something fierce!

And because I love these workouts so much I became a coach with beachbody so if you are interested in trying any of them out just holla! there is a link on the sidebar that will take you to a page where you can find out about different workouts, but since I have tried most of them I can break down the best ones for you!

What we say...

A person who wants something will find a way; a person who doesn't will find an excuse-Stephen Dolley Jr.
It’s been said that some of the smartest people make lousy entrepreneurs. How can that be? The problem is that some people are so smart they can easily predict all of the problems, roadblocks and hurdles they’ll need to overcome to succeed. They can think of all kinds of reasons why an idea won’t work. This foresight can crush possibilities and dreams. When you want something, do you focus on the positive things, or the barriers? To reach your goals, you have to really want them. More importantly, you have to believe that you can do it. Think more about why you CAN make it happen instead of why you can’t.

This quote came into my inbox..and I thought it would make a great blogpost to talk about the excuses we tell ourselves to talk us out of changing.

I'm not calling anyone out,but here are a few I have heard already- I have a sweet tooth,so I will always need to satisfy that!,The place where I work makes it difficult for me to eat RAW,I'm nervous to try it are green smoothies bitter? lol

So let's break these down, the sweet tooth, right now it is not all or nothing in eating RAW..once your body gets use to having super nutritious food fed to it you will not be craving sugar so much,so choosing healthier treats like vegan desserts is cool as long as you know that it was made with refined flours and sweetners..there are many fat vegans(me back in the day) who cling to these desserts and think that they are being healthy...when transitioning that's fine, but eventually you will want to move past those desserts...let's not forget fruit is a great snack!!

Now the work situation..this one made me chuckle because the first thought I had was I could work the door at a whore house but that don't make me a whore,lol...This is where you work ,no one is forcing you to eat there...now if your manager is tying you to a chair and forcing you to it chicken nuggets and stacks of pancakes...then we need to contact the authorities! lol You must value you enough to not put crap into your body,My fave T-shirt say "EAT LIKE YOU GIVE A DAMN" everytime you put heavily processed food in your mouth you ARE creating sickness somewhere in your body,it may not show up today or even on the scale but I guarantee you will have to deal with the consequences of those actions someday!

And lastly to the comment about greens being bitter...there is no reason to be afraid/nervous of greens! what has our society done to us where we question something so nutritious as greens but think nothing of ingesting ingredients we cant pronounce!...Yeah there will be some concoctions that you mix up that wont be great...I put a link in the first post to give you some ideas as a jumping off point.. remember the goal is to eat more natural wholesome food and to stop eating heavily processed food...we are on the right track!

It all begins now..

Greetings!

Today begins your journey into embracing LIVE foods...I think I like the LIve food title better than RAW food...when folks here you are eating RAW..their eyebrow goes up and they get that stank face..I guess they think I'm chomping on raw meat,lol..anyway as stated in the email..the objective here is consume at least 3 green smoothies this week check out this site there are 70 green smoothie recipes listed. Green smoothie recipes

and remember to get your exercise in as well
It would be really great if you could check and leave a comment with each green smoothie you drink..what was in it,did u like it..etc...you know some feedback

as well as what exercise you have committed to doing....remember you are literally making your life better with every decision to exercise and with everything you choose to put in your mouth...now I know there will be days when you are in a social situation and you want a cocktail or something that isn't so healthy..that's cool...but know that when you make that decision you also need to compensate for that my increasing your cardio...that is the only way you will not see a gain or stagnate..and remember the more muscle you have the more calorie burn at rest..so if you increase your lean muscle mass..little digressions wont matter so much..but I will tell you that the healthy and more vibrant the foods you choose...you wont want to ingest junk food!!...for real tho,lol
